"In March, we holed up in Madison. We had no time to explore the town, not that we wanted to see it anyway. Instead we spent ten hours in a dormitory lounge and a radio station. We wanted to see what we could make with what little time and resources we had, to see how fast we could come up with a way to show our spontaneity. Two friends who hadn't seen each other in a year had two days record two songs. Haste was our method, and so it was our product. Every buzz, every squeak, and every faltered note was left untouched. In working quickly, I found parts of myself surfacing that I didn’t know I had, vulnerabilities and strengths alike. This is their display." - Jonathan Cooney (No Stranger)
